More Than a Phone Call

Communication is a key factor in engaging with the world around you and staying up-to-date with the latest events and occurrences. Furthermore, when your capabilities are enhanced using these technological advances in communication, life is made a little easier. Sometimes exchanging information quickly and effectively is necessary when it comes to our fast-paced, ever-changing lifestyles. It’s important to be able to reach out in several ways from a single device that has the capability to reach out efficiently.

Phone calls are a great way to quickly connect with those you love the most, but did you know that is not the only way there is to reach out? There are other ways to use our phones to stay in touch with everyone in our circle. Our phone is the gateway to connect, which in turn, is a great asset to getting ahead and networking with people on a global scale. Ideas, innovations, and progressive advancements can reach individuals and groups of people in an instant, anywhere around the world.

Staying in contact with others has never been easier than it is now. It’s important to stay engaged in the interactive world while maintaining the freedom to unplug from the business world for a while and connect with your social circles.  Don’t be afraid to a little research, and to really experience the potential that your mobile device has to offer.

Life happens in moments, so why not share those moments more often with the ones you love? Everyone is busy, and life goes fast. It’s not always convenient to spend an hour on a phone call. Our mobile devices are capable of processing and conveying information with the push of a button, adding convenience to our ability to communicate. I’d like to share a few of my favorite mobile apps for staying in touch.

Snapchat

Texting, pictures, and short videos for conveniently staying in touch. Snap a picture to share with friends or send a short video to help others feel like they are right there with you.

Houseparty

Gives you the ability to group-chat so you can connect with your circle of friends or plan a family activity. The most valuable thing you can give someone is your time, so why not keep all your friends, family, and acquaintances together by sharing a quick video, group chat, or text?

Marco Polo

A face-to-face messaging app. Use it to take a short video or record short voice messages. Share a moment easily, because life happens in moments.

Skype

Great for video chat/calls and allows you to collaborate or attend a meeting conveniently, talk via camera and microphone to those who are far away.

No one should pay several hundred dollars for a smartphone to only use it to making phone calls. Having a mobile device that has internet and Wi-Fi capabilities is like having a handheld computer in the palm of your hand. There is an increasing number of service providers that will allow you stay connected with the ones you care about, and it is best to do some research to determine which provider has the right services to fit your needs. The opportunities to connect are nearly endless through your mobile device, find what apps work best for you to stay connected to those you care about.
